The Linux Journal recently published an article I wrote on Jean-Pierre Lemoine's AVSynthesis, a program designed for artists working with the computer as a medium for the synthesis of image and sound. I'm fascinated by that program, so I decided to research the existence of similar software. This article presents the current findings from that research.
Analyst Evans Data Corporation has reported that only 8 percent of developers are targetting Windows Vista while 49 percent are still developing for Windows XP.
John Andrews, CEO & president of Evans Data, says developers are on a wait-and-see mode on Vista because of driver issues, software incompatibility and steep hardware requirements.
It’s pretty ironic since developer’s are on a wait and see mode expecting that software and driver compatibilities would vanish when in fact, 49% of these folks are contributing to delayed stability of Vista because of their continuous support for XP instead of targeting Vista right away.

About Dejal Narrator Use Narrator to read out a play or story with different voices for each of the parts. It uses speech synthesis to read out marked passages using specified voice attributes. You can choose different voices, rates, pitches, inflections, and volumes for each character in the story. The words are highlighted on-screen, and there are also a couple of silent read-along options for stage directions, or for you to read out your own parts.
